    Today, everyone in the world is in search for happiness. There are workshops, courses, clubs and groups and publications devoted to happiness. Everyone seems to be searching for this elusive state of bliss, making it seem as if the whole world has become a miserable place. As there are numerous causes for unhappiness, there are many causes for happiness. It could be for the want of love, money, job, house, car, prestige, fame or even food or shelter. Competition and culture fuel needs such as the desire to succeed, the desire to get followers on social media, the desire for quick pleasure, and a plethora of other needs that are making people unhappy. This state brings negative emotions like sadness, anger, jealousy, guilt and so on. But when we get what we want, we are “happy”. When our desire is met, we experience an emotion of happiness.

    One way of ensuring we are not unhappy is to be satisfied. Satisfaction is also a resultant emotion after a need is fulfilled. You might be content with the money you make, the food you consume, or your employment. Two things can make you happy: limiting your goals to what you can realistically achieve, or accepting the outcomes you get, regardless of whether they meet or fall short of your expectations. In order to be satisfied, one must not be dissatisfied with how an activity or need was met. However, that does not equate to happiness.

Happiness is a fleeting emotion. Happiness might last for a brief period of time before changing to another emotion. When one need is met, a different need or a longing for the same need in a stronger form replaces it. 
 
What is the best way to lead a contented and happy life?
1. Set goals and concentrate on achieving them.

2. Ignore criticism and financial concerns from others.Simply begin.

3. Develop the habit of smiling at all times.

4. Allow suffering to motivate you.

5. From whatever you have, give something back to society.

6.  Always make sure your loved ones are satisfied and happy.
